Yuy's Boat Club | Brand Identity

Michael Lane, the founder of Yuy’s Boat Club approached me with the task of creating the brand identity for his new found restaurant, bar and events venue based in Brunei. The restaurant was to be based in Kuala Belait, serving a rotating menu, with a range of different offerings from seafood platters to British themed dishes. The venue offered event spaces to family and children’s birthday parties to corporate events so needed to appeal to families as well as business professionals.

I wanted to create something premium, yet approachable and friendly so tried to craft a logo design and identity that sat somewhere within that space. I created a nautical rope styled font for the word ‘Yuy’s’ which had a soft, friendly feel to the form, accompanied by a rich serif font with the ‘o’ of boat, lifted by a small symbol of a boat on the waves. The colour palette we opted for had bright and friendly tones accompanied by a rich hue of navy blue. The palette worked well together, offering a range of complimentary combinations, suitable for different applications which was ideal for the needs of Yuy’s Boat Club.
