Animation is a fantastic way of communicating with your audience. Whether you want to explain what your business does, what products your company offers or whether you just want to add that little something extra to your brand visuals – animation is a great tool to use and can really help businesses to stand out from the crowd.

In a world where our attention spans are notoriously getting shorter, animation can really help to reach those customers that might not want to give 5 minutes of their time to read all about your exciting new service offering. But they will instead, happily watch a 2 minute video explaining the same thing. Animation can help to make complex processes and text-heavy adverts that much simpler, and can do it in a much more fun and entertaining way.

Below is a selection of services that I offer (all in 2D) along with a sample of my portfolio and a step-by-step (general) process that I use for most of the animated projects that I work on. < class="section-header">My Process

I’ve created a step-by-step process that I work to for creating animations. This is by no means a rigid process and I am always happy to tailor it to your specific requirements.

Step 1.

The Brief

The first step is to find out as much as I can about your project; the aim and purpose of the animation, the target audience, desired style of animation and the budget and deadline to be adhered to. Once I have a firm understanding of what you’re looking to achieve, I will send through a quote for the work to be completed.

Step 2.

The Script & Voice Over

Once the quotation has been approved, we will move onto the script for the animation. Depending on what was discussed in the brief, this may be something you have created already and may only be looking to tweak here and there. You may instead need a helping hand and I will happily work with you to create a script for your animation. Depending on the style of your animation, you may be looking to have a voice over included to narrate your story. I will provide a range of voice over artists to choose from and once the script and a VO artist has been approved, I will organise the voice over artist to create the recording.

Step 3.

Style Frame & Storyboard

Now that the script has been written and the VO recorded, we will move onto the style frames and storyboard creation. Working from your brand guidelines and from the brief discussion points, I will create a number of style frames for you to review to give you a good feeling of what your overall animation will look like. Once the style frames have been approved, I will create a storyboard for the full animation so you can see how the main frames of the animation will look and you’ll get a good feeling for how each scene will move too.

Step 4.

Animation

When the storyboard has been signed off, the animation begins! To keep you up-to-date on the progress of the animation, I will regularly send you clips of the animated scenes back for you to view. Once I have completed the animation, I will send back the full video for you to review and I will make any minor amendments to the animation if needed.

Step 5.

Music & SFX

Once the animation has been signed off, I will added any required sound effects to the video. I will also add a background music track if needed and this will be from a library of stock options. Bespoke music tracks can be added but this may incur an additional charge.

Step 6.

Animation Complete!

Once the music and SFX’s have been approved, I will export your full video for you to use on your website and social media outlets (other platforms/usage will need to be discussed and approved at the briefing stage).
